Sheriff Whitney Announces Undersheriff Monroe Graduates from Homeland Security Leadership Academy

GLYNCO, GEORGIA – Allegany County Undersheriff Kevin Monroe recently received a Certificate of Graduation from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) upon completing the Homeland Security Leadership Academy (HSLA) conducted at FLETC, in Glynco, Georgia. Attendees included law enforcement executives from over 22 state, local, and territorial police and sheriff agencies.

The HSLA is a two-week professional development and leadership training program designed for law enforcement executives, at no cost to the local taxpayers. It is the result of a collaboration between FLETC and the National Sheriffs’ Association. Some of the topics covered included: leadership in a crisis, the art of perception; exemplary leadership; emotional intelligence; ethics in leadership.

FLETC has a vital mission: to train those who protect our homeland. FLETC is the primary provider of basic and advanced law enforcement training to federal law enforcement agencies, as well as a significant contributor to advanced training for state, local, and international law enforcement officers and agents.

Since FLETC’s creation in 1970, they have trained over a million law enforcement officers, and, on average, FLETC trains more than 70,000 law enforcement officers each year.  FLETC also collaborates with more than 95 federal Partner Organizations and law enforcement experts worldwide. FLETC is proud to partner with law enforcement professionals to help them achieve their goals and advance their careers.
