Judith D. Hopkins, District I Legislator and Human Services Committee Chair, will not Seek Re-election in 2022

Judith Hopkins, Legislator- District 1, will retire from the Allegany County Legislature when her term ends on December 31, 2021.  District 1 represents the northern county townships of Angelica, Belfast, Caneadea, Centerville, Granger, Hume, and Rushford, as well as the village of Angelica.

Hopkins has served in the Legislature since 2015. She is currently Chair of the Human Services Committee and a member of Planning & Economic Development, Public Safety, and Ways & Means.  She was the Chair of the Allegany County Ad Hoc Committee on Opioid/Heroin Issues.  Additional current responsibilities include serving on the Soil & Water Board and the Allegany County Industrial Development Agency (Vice-chair).

Hopkins affirmed, “It has been a great honor & pleasure to serve Allegany County as a Legislator for five years.  I will miss it, but it is time to concentrate on other priorities in my life.” Hopkins will stay active in volunteer service but will enjoy more time for family & leisure.
