BELMONT – Local young professionals are invited to join the Allegany County Young Professionals Group at their premier Mentor Mixer event of the fall on Thursday, September 20, at 6 p.m. at the Wellsville Country Club. This event offers young professionals an opportunity to network with established professionals and leaders in business, industry, and government, as well as get to know their peers and the area.
“Allegany County Young Professionals Group seeks to support the next generation of leaders in Allegany County, both professionally and socially,” said new Board Chair and Assistant Professor of Biomaterials Engineering at Alfred University, Tim Keenan. “Our Mentor Mixer event brings the promising young professionals of Allegany County together with some of our most successful and established business, industry, and government professionals, in the hope of forming crucial mentoring relationships that will help our young professionals remain in Allegany County, establish families here, advance their careers here, and even launch new businesses in Allegany County.”
After an extended summer break, Allegany County’s Young Professionals Group is back with a full slate of events extending through early summer 2019.
“We’ll be providing a schedule of our upcoming events at the Mentor Mixer, which will include coordinated social events, professional development opportunities, and civic engagement opportunities,” said Keenan.
“Cultivating a supportive network of mentoring resources for our young professionals in Allegany County means they’ll receive leadership mentoring, their voices will be heard on community issues, and if they’re interested in starting new businesses, they’ll receive direction from people who have done that,” noted Craig Clark, Economic Developer at Allegany County.
Hors devours will be provided and a cash bar will be available at this free event. Those who wish to attend should RSVP to the event on Facebook, by email at ACYP@alleganyco.com, or by phone at 585-268-7447 by September 13.
