Are you interested in better understanding the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR)? Do you have questions about the role of your local government and when to use a consultant? If so, then please join us at the next training session of STC’s Planning School, on Tuesday September 10, 2019 from 5:30 – 8:30 PM in the STC Conference Room at 8 Denison Parkway East, Suite 310, Corning, NY (dinner will be provided). This session is for local officials, planning board members, code enforcement officers, clerks, and any interested member of the public. Feel free to forward/share this invitation.
The instructor, Lucia Woo, is an Environmental Planner specializing in SEQRA compliance at LaBella Associates, DPC. She has assisted over 30 upstate NY communities with environmental review of projects relating mostly to water & sewer infrastructure, residential & commercial development, local law adoption, and renewable energy development.
The focus of the class will be the ‘everyday’ SEQR applications that your planning board may receive; how, why, and when SEQR is conducted by a local government. Attendees will also practice determining the type of action as well as determining environmental significance.
The goal is for everyone attending the class to develop a comfortable grasp on:
-a short SEQR form
-long SEQR form and
-when it is necessary to hire a consultant to assist with SEQR review.
Reservations are required by 2:00 PM on the day of the class; call 607-962-5092 or email email@example.comFind out more »
