Workforce Development

Our mission is to offer attractive incentives to manufacturing and other businesses to remain and expand, or relocate, to Allegany County New York understanding that a strong plan for sustainable economic development begins with a clear vision for economic growth.

The countywide vision for economic development may be summarized through a listing of overarching goals for economic development, a description of where such economic growth is desired to occur, and an identification of what type of economic development is envisioned.

The goals of the Allegany County Industrial Development Agency for Economic Development are to: manage growth and development; conserve rural and scenic areas; and protect agricultural resources.

Allegany County provides a wide array of workforce development activities designed to have its workers as highly trained as possible.

This effort includes training workers for new careers through the Workforce Investment Board (EIB), assistance to entrepreneurs through the ACCORD Small Business Center, and the improvement of skill sets through Literacy West.
