OPERATIONS DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Beginning April 1, 2020, the County Clerk’s Office and DMV will be staffed at reduced hours 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday. There will be no face-to-face transactions, and the Allegany County Courthouse and County Office Building will be limiting public access until further notice.

All Department of Motor Vehicle transactions must be conducted online or by mail. Please consider mailing your renewals to the Allegany County DMV, PO Box 242, 7 Court Street, Belmont, NY 14813 so the county can recover some of the revenue associated with these transactions. DMV employees will be available for telephone questions during business hours at (585) 268-9267.

The County Clerk’s Office will accept mail-in transactions only. As of May 26, 2020, some civil action filings will be accepted. (For information about civil action filings, click here.) County Clerk employees will be available for telephone questions during business hours at (585) 268-9270.
