Landfill Closure Bids

Public Works Superintendent David Roeske indicated that they recently opened bids for the Phase III Cover System Construction at the Landfill.  They only received one bid from Zoladz Construction in an amount exceeding $1.7 million.  Mr. Roeske stated that he is not happy with that bid, and he would like to hold off on awarding the bid.  Mr. Roeske indicated that they would like to secure additional bids in January.  A motion was made by Legislator Healy, seconded by Legislator O’Grady and carried to not award the bid at this time.  No additional action is necessary at this time.

Acquisition of Property

County Administrator John Margeson stated that the committee previously authorized him to make a purchase offer on a quarter-acre parcel that is adjacent to the back parking lot.  Mr. Margeson stated that the property is jointly owned by Steven, Mark and Alan Presutti, and they have accepted and signed a purchase offer in the amount of $1,500.  A motion was made by Chairman Curtis Crandall and then withdrawn to move forward with the purchase of the property.  A motion was then made by Legislator Fanton, seconded by Chairman Crandall and carried to table the issue.  (Voting No:  T. O’Grady)

Adjournment:

There being no further business to come before the committee, the meeting was adjourned at 2:47 p.m. following a motion made by Legislator O’Grady, seconded by Legislator Fanton and carried.
