1.        Chairman Fanton called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.

 

2.        A motion was made by Legislator Curran, seconded by Legislator O’Grady and carried approving the minutes of February 2, 2011.

 

3.        A motion was made by Legislator Healy, seconded by Legislator Hopkins and carried approving the department to hire summer help.

 

4.        A motion was made by Legislator O’Grady, seconded by Legislator Healy and carried to award the job of completing the entrance drive and retaining wall at the courthouse complex to Nova Site Company ($49,493.00).

 

5.        A motion was made by Legislator Hopkins, seconded by Legislator Curran requesting a Resolution to transfer the following funds to cover the cost of  Dennis Dunham’s contract as Buildings & Grounds Supervisor:

6.        Mr. Roeske spoke with the Committee about the possibility of putting an exit drive around the new addition that would exit behind the support building.  Mr. Roeske stated there is enough room for a one-lane drive and approximately 15 parking spaces behind the addition.  After much discussion, the committee was unanimous in requesting the department develop a cost estimate for the project for their consideration.

8.        A motion was made by Legislator Hopkins, seconded by Legislator O’Grady and carried requesting a Resolution to transfer the following funds to cover overages on major purchases:

9.        A motion was made by Mr. O’Grady, seconded by Mr. Healy and carried to refer to Ways and Means the filling of a Transfer Station Operator which became open due to the internal bidding process of another position.  Referred to Ways and Means Committee

 

10.        Steve Kenyon and Jeff Hoffman expressed their concerns with the Committee that there is no detour scheduled when the bridge over County Route 13C is replaced. Mr. Kenyon explained residents with lifeline will be affected by this project. Mr. Roeske explained a detour would additional $50,000 to $60,000 to the cost of the project.  There is also the possibility the DEC will not allow a detour due because the bridge spans a protected stream.  After much discussion the committee unanimously agreed to have Mr. Roeske meet with the DEC to discuss the possibility of installing a detour. The Committee will further discuss funding if the department receives approval from the DEC.

 

11.        A motion was made by Legislator O’Grady, seconded by Legislator Ungermann and carried to adjourn at 2:45 p.m.
