Education

Public health education is at the core of what we do. Presentations can be made to elementary, junior high and high school students, community groups and service clubs, private business and industry personnel and volunteer agencies. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Sexually Transmitted Infection Prevention

  • Dangers of Sugar Sweetened Beverages
  • Sexting
  • Lead Poisoning Prevention
  • Immunizations

Family Planning

Complete Physical exams and instruction on birth control methods are available. Nutritional counseling, emergency contraception, and referral to private physicians are provided. All visits are confidential.

HIV testing is offered to everyone per public health law, with opt-out option for those not seeking testing at this time.

Immunizations

Allegany County sponsors Immunization Clinics for adults and children. Most services are free to those who qualify and a sliding fee scale is provided for others.

Adult Immunization
Most adults do not realize that they need immunizations. Please call us for a FREE individualized assessment of immunizations you could benefit from per CDC recommendations. (585) 268-9250

Immunization for Children
Immunization schedules for children are changing all the time. Please call us for a FREE individualized assessment of immunizations you could benefit from per CDC recommendations. (585) 268-9250

Immunization clinics are held in Belmont by appointment only. During influenza season clinics are held in several different locations throughout Allegany County.

Immunizations are billed to insurances or self pay. If self pay is utilized an income based payment system is available. The self pay range could be $0 to full cost of vaccine. Call us to determine fee! (585) 268-9250

Malaria, Typhoid and Yellow Fever vaccines are not available.

Pap Clinics

Women who are uninsured and do not qualify for the Cancer Service Program (CSP) or have had a tubal ligation, hysterectomy, or have undergone menopause are eligible for a PAP Smear per ACOG Guidelines

  • Sliding fee available for those uninsured
  • Fee may be as low as $0.00

Physicals

When? Available year round

Where? Belmont clinic, County Office Building, Belmont, New York

How much? $60. Insurance (if any) will be billed first. If paying privately, $60 due at time of physical.

WIC

WIC is a supplemental food program that provides services FREE of charge for pregnant women, breastfeeding moms, non-breastfeeding moms up to six months and children under the age of five.

To qualify for WIC you must:

  • Live in New York State
  • Meet household income guidelines set by the federal government
  • Have a nutritional need

  • Anyone who receives SNAP (food stamps), TANF (cash assistance), Medicaid, or Family Health Plus is automatically eligible!

WIC Provides:

  • Nutrition Education
  • Monthly checks for Nutritious food
  • Breastfeeding support including a peer counseling program
  • Breast pump loan agreement
  • Referrals to physicians and local human services agencies.
