Director of Development
Allegany County is seeking a skilled professional who would be responsible for developing and implementing an economic and industrial development program for Allegany County with an emphasis on attracting businesses and industries to locate within the County and promoting expansion of existing businesses and industries.  The position involves extensive contact with public and private organizations.  Personal contact must be maintained with business and industrial representative to explain detailed information pertaining to decisions to be made on locational advantages.  Work is performed under the general direction of the County Board of Legislators Planning and Economic Development Committee with wide leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in planning and carrying out the details of the work.  Supervision may be exercised over subordinate support staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Either:

(a)                Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelorís degree in business or public administration, management, industrial relations, economics, planning or related field and four years of experience in banking, public or business administration, urban planning, economic or industrial development, real estate, public relations or a field related to the development and implementation of economic growth; or
(b)               Eight years of experience as described in (a) above, two years of which must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity; or
(c)                An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b) above.

 Salary is negotiable based on education and experience.

Planning and Development Specialist
Allegany County is accepting applications for a Planning and Development Specialist until the final filing date of May 29, 2015.  Appointment will be on a provisional basis pending examination at a later date. Work involves the independent preparation of complex administrative reports and involves frequent use of independent judgment, in addition to utilization of accounting and bookkeeping techniques. Evening and weekend work is occasionally required of employees in this class. Work is performed under general supervision of higher level Planning/Development professionals. Incumbent leads and participates in clerical work assignments and general office administrative affairs. Does related work as required.

Director of Information Technology
Allegany County is seeking a skilled professional with a proven track record to serve as our Director of Information Technology.  The Director has responsibility for supervising, coordinating, and supporting county information technology and telecommunications activities.  The work involves simplifying and streamlining government operations, enable county employees to provide quality services to our customers, deliver information and services to citizens at home, at work and in the community.  The Director investigates new technology and developments in existing technology in order to develop standards for county hardware, software, and connectivity.  Supervision is exercised over the work of departmental staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Either:

(A)          Possession of a bachelorís degree in data processing, information technology, or business administration from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university and two yearsí experience in the operation of electronic data processing equipment which must have involved system analysis and computer programming; or

(B)          Possession of an associateís degree in applied science of electronic data processing or information technology and four years of experience in the operation of electronic data processing equipment, two years of which shall have involved systems analysis and computer programming; or

(C)         Six years of experience in the operation of electronic data processing equipment, two years of which shall have involved systems analysis and computer programming.
